The vision of the Courageous Conversation Group is identifying strength in experiences to increase performance. The mission of the Group is to provide training sessions for mental health clinicians and students, academic and leadership professionals, and organizational teams to help them improve relationships with their clients, employees, and teams for increased client buy-in, engagement, and business. Strength in experiences involves empowering individuals to better understand themselves (their narrative) and how this helps improve their performance with clients. The narrative is about understanding how our stories of race, culture, ethnicity, gender, age, sexuality, religion, other demographics, and intersectionality of demographics impact our work with clients. The sessions include four components around: Our experiences, our clients/customer experiences, using experiences to increase effectiveness, and adding value to future experiences. The Group is facilitated by Dr. Riggio and made up of national experts in their field; each session includes at least three presenters. The training session format and curriculum can be catered to meet the needs of the group, such as:
